Do you want to become a creative, confident and articulate Actor who can work across a variety of performance forms and contexts? Do you want to also experience the Performing Arts industry from the perspective of a creator, opening up your career options? This 2 A Level Equivalent course is ideal if you want to develop your acting skills and industry knowledge, supporting you to become ready for industry success. You’ll be ready for your future, and learn the latest techniques and practices that ensure you achieve your ambitions.


The topics you will study will see you growing your skills and knowledge. These include:

• Acting styles 

• Investigating practitioners work 

• Developing skills and techniques for live performance 

• Group performance workshop 

• Performing Arts in the community 

• Individual performance commission 

• Final live performance to an audience 

You will hone your skills in our state-of-the-art theatre which was revamped in summer 2019. This unique space features industry standard lighting, video projection and sound, giving you the chance to experience life as a professional performer whilst at College. 

Studying this subject at HNC is an immersive experience, and our experienced subject specialists will support and challenge you, honing your skills and ability as an Actor. You’ll be inspired by a variety of visiting external experts, and put your skills to the test

Your next steps...

You will be prepared to progress to degree level study or industry. Many of our students move on to Acting Schools. Our Alumni include students who act in BBC’s Ackley Bridge, and running companies where they work in the community. Former student Lawrence Guntert is a successful actor, performing in a range of roles. This industry is worth over £100 billion annually, and offers so many opportunities beyond the obvious!
